Vietnam visa for border crossing

Hi.  I’m Australian citizen. I am planning on traveling to Vietnam from Cambodia at one of the northern border crossings. As I will not be traveling by air I want to check if I will need to get a Visa before leaving my country of Australia or if I will need to get a visa before my departure from Cambodia into Vietnam. I am planning on spending approximately 3 weeks in Vietnam for a holiday. Thank you! Jay.

Be kindly informed that you only need to have your visa to Vietnam before your departure for Vietnam. You can apply for a Vietnam visa at Vietnam Embassy in Australia or in Laos. If you want to apply for a visa via Vietnam Embassy in Laos, please make sure your time in Laos is long enough to get a visa there.

You are advised to contact the Vietnam Embassy in advance to know about the procedure as well as required documents for your visa application to save your time.
