I’m an Australian presently living in Shenzhen, China, and I are planning on visiting Vietnam next month and were wondering whether it is possible to go to the Vietnamese consulate in Guangzhou or Hong Kong and apply? At the moment, there is no Vietnam embassy in Shenzhen. But you can contact other Vietnam embassies in China, as you said in Guangzhou or Hong Kong to submit your application documents.

Besides, if you travel to Vietnam by air, we recommend you apply for Vietnam visa on arrival. This way is much simpler as it allows you to apply online for visa approval letter and then get visa stamped upon arrival at Vietnam airport. Its application does not require you to submit any document at all.
