Many people may feel confused when choosing between a single entry visa or a multiple entry visa for their itinerary to Vietnam. Although, both are valid for a fixed period and cannot be used after they expire, they have a major difference in terms of number of entries. And this post will give you details of this difference.

– A single entry visa allows you – the visa applicant to come to Vietnam only one time. Once you have left Vietnam, you will need a new visa to travel back to and enter Vietnam. This kind of visa is the so-called “visa with single use”. For example, if you apply for 1 month single entry visa, you are allowed to enter and exit Vietnam only ONCE within 30 days since your pre-registered arrival date.

– A multiple entry visa allows you to have multiple stays in Vietnam until your visa validity expires. It means that you can enter Vietnam, then exit and come back without a new visa if you visa is in its validity duration. For example, if you have a 3-month multiple entry visa, you are allowed to enter and exit Vietnam multiple times within 90 days since you registered arrival date. In case you travel with a visa on arrival, your first entry must be by air. Later entries can be either by land, sea or air since the Vietnam visa stamp is already on your passport.
