pedestrian streets in hanoi old quarter - vietnam visa application from australiaOn October 3, 2014, the Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee announced the launching or 6 more walking streets so that the tourists will find it much easier to explore the Hanoi Old Quarter on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

The 6 new streets for pedestrians are Hang Buom, Ma May, Hang Giay, Luong Ngoc Quyen, Ta Hien and Dao Duy Tu which are connected to the existing Hang Dao – Dong Xuan pedestrian road.

The area is well-known for many historical relics dating back to the 18th – 19th century such as the temples of Bach Ma, Quan De and Huong Tuong together with houses of old architecture which is typical of Hanoi.

Along the streets, performances of traditional music “hat xam” (minstrel songs), “chau van” (spiritual singing), and “ca tru” (ceremonial singing) as well as jazz will be organized.

Last month, the 300m long Hang Buom Street was also made a cuisine street, serving Hanoi traditional confectionery and beverage and some European and Asian dishes to visitors to the night market along the Hang Dao- Dong Xuan route.

If you travel to Hanoi, don’t miss the chance to join such walking streets to experience a very impressive Hanoi Old Quarter.
