To celebrate the Vietnamese Tet – Lunar New Year, Hanoi will hold a lot of activities.
As planned, Hanoi will launch fireworks in 29 locations throughout the city, including 5 locations for high-range fireworks (Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Lac Long Quan Flower Park, Van Quan Lake and My Dinh National Stadium and other 24 locations in the inner and outlying districts for low-range fireworks. The fireworks displays will last for 15 minutes – from 0:00 to 00:15am on January 31, 2014 – the first minutes of the lunar year 2014.
In the locations of fireworks displays, there will be art performances to be held prior to the time of fireworks, so that the people can enjoy their time as best as possible. Such performances are performed by artists from the Hanoi Art Group or the Vietnam Military, etc.
In addition, there will be performances of young artists, singers and music bands to be held in front of the Hanoi Opera House or Thang Long Imperial and Thong Nhat Park to celebrate the reach of another new year to Vietnam.
As announced by the Hanoi’s People Committee, there will also many exhibitions during the Tet holiday to introduce the customs of Vietnamese in general and of Hanoians in particular.
