Please be informed that in this case, you cannot obtain the visa on arrival to Vietnam as this kind of visa is available only if you travel to Vietnam by air.
In your case, we recommend you contact the cruise line to make sure whether your cruise line arrange the visa for you or not. We think they will as many cruise lines do so.
Otherwise, you must advise the local Vietnam embassy in Australia or in any country before Vietnam for Vietnam visa.
