Australia citizens planned to enjoy Vietnam visa exemption

According to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), a proposal was sent to the Government to ask for waiving tourist visa to Vietnam for Australia, New Zealand, member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, known as SNG, and Eastern Europe. Therefore, citizens of these above countries in general and citizens of Australia in particular are likely to enjoy Vietnam visa exemption for stay in Vietnam.

Thanks to the well-established relationship and direct flights between these countries and Vietnam, visitors are getting easier to travel to Vietnam, said Dinh Ngoc Duc, head of the VNAT’s International Cooperation Department. In addition, the policy of waiving Vietnam Visa for Australia and these countries is wished to attract a large number of visitors of Australia, New Zealand, the SNG and Eastern Europe.

Recently, Vietnamese Government has released a decision to free visa for 15-day stay in Vietnam for passport holders of Belarus, the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

The government’s recent visa exemption decision is highly expected to show its effects from September this year when Western Europe’s travel season began.

Currently, Australian citizens are offered  two ways to get Vietnam visa: Obtaining visa at Vietnam Embassy and Applying for Visa on arrival (VOA).
