1. Do apply for Vietnam visa approval letter via a local travel agent beforehand

Vietnam visa on arrival does not mean that you will get Vietnam visa upon arrival in Vietnam without doing anything before departure. It means more than that. With visa on arrival, you will need to apply online for a visa approval letter and get it before your flight to Vietnam. And then, you will pick up full visa at Vietnam airport.

2. Do not apply for visa on arrival if you do not travel to Vietnam by air

As visa on arrival requires its applicants to get visa stamped upon arrival at Vietnam airport, not any border gate, please do not use visa approval letter to enter Vietnam via land border or sea ports. If you still attempt to do so, your entry will be refused, and of course, the visa letter fee will not be refunded.

And of course, you will get no refund for the letter containing the spelling mistake if it is caused by your fault.

So, in this case, you are highly recommended to check after filling out the form to make sure all information is correct.
